Lincoln rocks, History channel does not

I found an Abraham Lincoln poster the other day and I felt it would go well with my other two posters Raiders of the Lost Ark and a map of South America. I feel like this room now expresses several of my major interests: history, travel, and awesome movies. Speaking of awesome movies and history, I am very excited about the upcoming film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Yes, that is a real movie. It is based on a book by the same author that wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (I think both of these are about to be added to my summer reading list).

I was also watching a history channel documentary called Lincoln: The Untold StoriesIt is an interesting look at Lincoln's life as told through stories collected by his friend, William Herndon. It was made in 2000, which means it is still decent. The history channel has not really made anything of value for a number of years. They did produce that mini-series The Kennedys, and I have found the first couple of episodes to be interesting. But the History Channel never aired the series and it has been suggested that this was because of certain liberties taken in the storytelling. But honestly, if the History Channel is going to get picky about how factual its shows are then maybe someone should take a closer look at Ancient Aliens.

But I digress. My main point in today's post was that Abraham Lincoln rocks. Some other time I will post about how the History Channel sucks. I mean Pawn Stars? Swamp People? Really?
